“We are aware of the problems that threaten this planet. An increasing world population, unstoppable global warming, widespread food shortages – they’re related to each other and something must happen to stop this trend or at least slow it down.  We have long known that the meat industry destroys our planet and that we urgently need to look for our salvation in different sources of nutrition. A solution to counter global warming would be a dietary change: a sustainable lifestyle. This is why we, with our company, develop sustainable food: RAW FOOD, VEGAN FOOD, but also food with INSECTS as the base ingredient.” 

Meanwhile in the West…

“In the West we hardly think about insects in a positive way, let alone eat them. This negativity is instilled in us since childhood. Children are taught that insects are dangerous and dirty. People are scared of them and people associate them with pain, itchiness, and annoyance. However, when young children are not influenced, you’ll see that they are interested in the critters. They let ladybugs crawl around on their hand, catch beetles in the garden and boys often have a huge fascination with the anatomy of insects. I represent, with my heart and soul, World Solution Food. It is a company comprised of the following 3 big activities: 

1. Giving talks and presentations about entomophagy and sustainable alternatives for meat – in other words, sensitization: talking about it, trying to convince people, and so on and so forth, to encourage and stimulate people to eat insects. I am very happy with your attention but most of all, I like to address children. They are the new generation and they need to be prepared.

2. Putting thought and care into catering and events by offering delicious appetizers and dishes. We prove that insects and plant-based foods can be prepared in multiple ways and that they can be extremely interesting in the kitchen.

3. The third undertaking: perhaps the most difficult aspect of our company, includes product development of superfood wherein BUGS have a prominent place.

The choice of combining these activities is a very conscious decision. As mentioned before, insects need a boost. An explanation is necessary. The goal of working together with event agencies and organizations makes sure that more people get a taste of it – the first step. This is the hardest part. Our goal with these 3 activities is to get the Western world to look at insects in a different light; that insects are healthy, ecological and delicious.” 

Eating VEGAN, RAW & BUG FOOD can change the world. 

“We don’t need marketing research or profound studies to realize that change is necessary. That’s why we’re going for it! David’s Croquette is now being praised. Not surprising – it is a delectable little ball! A ball that above all else, can launch a necessary change.  And we scream that from the rooftops! Hoe zijn jullie op het idee gekomen?

Liesbet: Tijdens een rondreis in Azië merkten we snel op dat insecten eten voor veel mensen niet zo vreemd is. We proefden in Bangkok de verschillende insecten en insectenkok David maakte de opmerking; “Dit is nu toch niet op smaak gebracht !” Op basis daarvan zijn we verder gegaan en is hij beginnen experimenteren in de keuken. Zo ontstond BUGS.
